HEADQUARTERS, June 6, 1945 -- The Commanding Officer of the 488th Port
Battalion Transportation Corps announces with great pleasure that the 488th
Port Battalion has been awarded the Meritorious Service Unit Plaque
for
superior performance of duty in the accomplishment of exceptionally difficult
tasks in the Peninsular Base Section for the Period 1 October 1944 to 31
January 1945.
The 488th Port Battalion earned another Meritorious Service Unit
Plaque for the period of 1 September 1944 to 31 December 1944.
